Mohamed Fadl, a member of the five-members committee, revealed that the Egyptian Football Association has raised the value of the prize money allocated to the Egyptian Super Match.
"The previous value was 350,000 dirhams (UAE dirham) for the winner and 150,000 for the loser," the former Al-Ahly and Ismaili player said on Wednesday at a press conference.
"Now the winner will receive half a million dirhams, and the loser will receive 300,000."
Thus, the value of the financial prize that Al Ahly and Zamalek will receive is approximately 3 and a half million Egyptian pounds. The winner gets two million and 160 thousand pounds, and the rest is for the loser.
The two teams will play at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium next February 20, the Egyptian Super match for the 2019-2020 season, and the match will start at 7:00 pm Cairo time.
It will be managed by a foreign referee, and VAR will be applied for the first time in a match between two Egyptian teams.
Al-Ahly played against Zamalek last September in the Super Cup for the 2018-2019 season and won the first 3-2.
UAE hosted the Egyptian Super Cup in 2015, 2017 and 2018.
In 2015, Al-Ahly defeated Zamalek 3-2, in 2017 the latter defeated the first on a penalty shootout, and in 2018 Al-Ahly crowned Al-Masry.
