The Egyptian Volleyball Federation has officially decided to sack the coaching staff of the first team men after failing to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The Egyptian Federation, headed by Ahmed Abdel-Dayem, sacked the Dutch coach of Egypt, Guido Vermeulen.
The Egyptian team bid farewell to the African qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics, after losing 3-0 to Tunisia at Cairo Stadium.
The Egyptian team played its last match against Cameroon, and the Pharaohs beat Cameroon 3-0 but it wasn't enough for qualifying.
Abdel Dayem revealed that the decision to sack the coaching staff after the loss from Tunisia, but preferred to wait until the end of the qualifiers to preserve the team spirit.
