The Confederation of African Football (CAF) revealed the statistics of the trio nominated for the award for the best player in Africa for 2019, which is Mohamed Salah, the Egyptian team and Liverpool club, Sadio Mane, the Senegal team and the Liverpool club, and Riyadh Mahrez, the wing of the Algerian team and Manchester City English club.
Mohamed Salah played 55 games, during which he scored 26 goals and assisted 10 other goals, Riyad Mahrez played 48 games, during which he scored 14 goals and assisted 18 goals, while Sadio Mane played 61 games, during which he scored 34 goals and made 12 other goals.
Mohamed Salah won the African Player of the Year award "twice" in 2017 and 2018, and Riyadh Mahrez "once" in 2016, while Sadio Mane did not crown the award before.
CAF officials have invited some of the Egyptian League's clubs presidents, headed by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, head of Al-Ahly Club and head of Al-Jazira Club Omar Jazzarin, in addition to Hassan Shehata, former coach of the Egyptian team, and Shawky Gharib, coach of the Egyptian Olympic team, to attend the ceremony of the best player in Africa hosted by Egypt, specifically Hurghada.
