Suez to host 6th Zayed Charity Marathon on Friday

CAIRO – 26 December 2019: Suez city will host the sixth edition of Zayed Charity Marathon on Friday, where around 20,000 people will participate in support of the National Cancer Institute of Cairo University.

The marathon comes within the Ministry of Sports’ efforts to emphasize the societal role of sports.

Minister of Sports Ashraf Sobhy announced that world soccer stars will come to Egypt on January 6-7, to take part in an exhibition game organized under the foot of the Giza Pyramids on the first day. On the second day of the match, a celebration will be held in Hurghada, Red Sea governorate to announce the best soccer player in Africa for 2019.

The annual marathon is held in cooperation between the Egyptian and UAE sides, represented by the Ministry of Sports and the UAE Embassy in Cairo. The marathon bears the name of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan.

The fifth edition of the marathon was held in December 2018 in Ismailia.
