CAIRO – 14 December 2019: Saudi Arabian giants, Al Hilal, will put their name in the history of the FIFA Club World Cup when they open their first participation at the competition on Saturday afternoon against Tunisia’s Esperence.

Al Hilal qualified for the competition after dominating Asian football last season to win the AFC Champions League title, having defeated Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan at the final.

The team led by Romanian manager, Razvan Lusesco, expects a massive support from Saudi fans who will pack Jassim bin Hamad stadium to cheer for their players.

“We are very happy to be here. We consider this the natural place for us. We hope we will reflect the development of Arabic football and get through the first stage, which is very important for us.” Al Hilal captain, Mohamed Al Shalhoub, said.

Lusesco announced the team starting line-up for the game and he decided to keep the team’s attacking line stars, Bafétimbi Gomis and Giovinco, beside him on the bench to use them during the game.

Al-Hilal’s starting line-up consists of: Abdullah Al-Mayouf, Ali Al Bulaihi, Mohammed Al-Breik, Carlos Eduardo, Jang Hyun-soo, Yasser Al-Shahrani, Gustavo Cuéllar, Mohamed Kanno, Salem Al-Dawsari, Omar Kharbin and André Carrillo.

The winner will face Copa Libertadores champions, Flamengo, on 17 December at the semi-finals.
