Zamalek have officially announced the appointment of Patrice Carteron as a coach for the first team.
Zamalek's board of directors, led by MortadaMansour, met with Serbian coach Milutin Seridovic "Micho" before it was agreed to terminate the contract between the two parties.
Zamalek did not wait long to immediately announce his contract with French Carteron to succeed Micho.
Zamalek's board has decided to appoint Carteron and the coach will arrive to Cairo on Tuesday, the club announced on its official website.
Carteron is assisted by duo Sami El Shishini and Amir Abdel Aziz as assistant coach, along with the presence of Greek Antonio as a coach of the team.
The 49-year-old Carteron took over as coach of Al Ahly in June 2018 on a two-year contract.
He led them to the 2018 Champions League final but lost to Esperance 4-3 on aggregate and then bid farewell to the Arab Championship on November 23 of the same year.
The Frenchman then took charge of Morocco's Raja on January 31, 2019 and was crowned two months later by the African Super Cup title over of Esperance, the second time the Moroccan team has won that title in its history.
Zamalek are preparing to face Al Sharkia on Wednesday in the round of 32 of the Egyptian Cup.
