Egyptian Olympic team - FILE
Egypt's Olympic team will return to training at the Cairo stadium, which hosts the Pharaohs' Championships in the African Under-23 Championship, after the Pharaohs camp in Ain Sokhna, Suez, and also re-equipping the pitch for the tournament and the opening ceremony.
Egypt U-23 national team continues their preparation for Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, taking place in Egypt between 8 and 23 November 2019.
The team manager, Shawki Gharib, praised the players’ commitment and desire to win the competition and secure a spot at 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
The manager asked the Egyptian fans to pack the stadiums and support the players during the tournament games, which will be played in Cairo at Cairo International Stadium and El Salam Stadium.
The top three teams will represent the continent at 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.
Gharib announced the team squad for the tournament, which included many top players like, Mostafa Mohamed, Taher Mohamed and Ramdan Sobhy.

Egypt U-23 team was drawn alongside Mali, Cameroon and Ghana in Group A and they will face Mali on Friday 8 November at the opening game of the tournament.
Egypt football appeared at the Olympic games 11 times before and their best achievement was the fourth place in 1928 in Amsterdam and 1964 in Tokyo.
Egypt’s last participation at the tournament was in 2012 in London and the national team was eliminated from the competitions at the quarter finals after losing to Japan.
