Egypt's coach Hossam El-Badry talked about the Pharaohs' captain candidates. Ahmed Fathi was the captain of Egypt's first team under Hossam El-Badry first victory, 1-0, over Botswana.
Hossam El-Badry said: "There are no constants belonging to the captaincy of the Egyptian team."
"The proof of this is what is happening in the whole world. It is not a standard," he said to Al Hadath channel.
"The Captain badge has special standards and special requirements."
Hossam El-Badry decided to give the badge of the captain to Mohamed Salah? "We haven't decided yet," the coach said.
"We are still in the study phase and in the end, we will decide the best for the team and the psychology of the players." he added.
"The captain must be very involved and respectful of his team. All these criteria are important for the national team and not for the player."
Mohamed Salah missed the camp of Egypt's first team with Hossam El-Badry after the latter decided to rest from friendly Botswana.
