I promise to delight the Egyptian fans: Shawki Gharib

CAIRO - 17 October 2019: Olympic football team coach Shawki Gharib promised Egyptian fans a breakthrough at the African Championships, which will kick off in Egypt on November 8 and qualify to the Tokyo Olympics.

Gharib said in a statement to Egypt Today after Egypt's friendly with South Africa that he is keen to try all the players in all positions in order to give them the required tactical flexibility.

Egypt defeated South Africa 1-0 thanks to Ramadan Sobhy’s goal.

He added that the coaching staff and the players will do their best to delight the fans in the African Championship, pointing out that everyone has the determination to go to the Olympics.

He continued that he wished the crowd to attend the full capacity of the Cairo stadium in the national team to support the players.
