CAIRO – 12 June 2017: In a touching show of solidarity, Welsh football fans donated blood on Sunday to a 19-year-old Serbian fan who was shot in clashes between rival Serbian fans last week. Serbian fans praised the visiting Welshmen for supporting the boy.
A Serbian Derby match between two of Belgrade's biggest clubs, Partizan Belgrade and Red Star, ended in clashes between fans of the two teams after Partizan won the match 1-0. The boy was injured by a shot in the stomach, and Partizan fans launched a blood donation campaign to help him.
Welsh fans who had traveled to Belgrade to support their team in Sunday’s match against Serbia for the World Cup qualifiers joined the blood donation campaign.
