CAIRO – 13 September 2019: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, has been named Liverpool player of the month after a strong start with his club at the new season of the Premier League.
Salah featured in Liverpool’s first four games and he had big contributions in his club’s successful start at the league.
"I am happy to win the award, but the most important thing as I’ve said before is winning games," Salah said on Thursday after receiving the award.
Salah scored three goals and provided two assists to lead his club to achieve four victories at the opening month of the Premier League.
Salah added “We won all of our games last month in the league, we had good results, so we need to keep focused on our games and keep winning.”
Salah and his teammates secured an early lead at the Premier League table with 12 points, two points ahead of the defending champions, Manchester City.
Salah continued “We had a good month. We won a trophy in that time, so it was something unbelievable for us as a team. Everyone showed with our performances and the way we can play, so we’re happy about what we have right now."
Liverpool returns to the Premier League competition o Saturday when they host Newcastle United.
