CAIRO – 5 August 2019: Zamalek Serbian manager, Milutin Sredojevic known as Micho, revealed on Wednesday that he had received an offer from Al-Ahly but he decided at the end to accept an offer from Al-Ahly rivals, Zamalek.
“I was ambushed by arch-rivals Ahly to join them with a much bigger financial offer but my consciousness did not allow me to dodge Zamalek and people here know that and respect the loyalty I have shown to my present team." The manager told local newspaper in South Africa.
The Serbian manager has had a 18-year spell working in Africa and he managed some of the continent’s super powes like Sudan’s Al Hilal and Orlando Pirates.
He continued “I came as a young coach of 32 years that came on a football adventure that was supposed to be short-lived but affected and infected with love and respect for Africa.”
Micho has the chance to achieve his first title with his new club on Sunday when Zamalek face Pyramids at the Cup Final.
