CAIRO – 26 July 2019: Guinea Bissau winger Piqueti Silva has signed for Egyptian side Ismaily on a three-year deal from Saudi side Al Shaolah.
Piqueti caught the eyes of many clubs especially after his performances in the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon, scoring a wonder goal against eventual champions Cameroon. Since then the talented winger was signed by Portuguese Martimo and loaned out to Academica but was unable to score once in only six appearances.
Despite Al Shaolah signing him in February, Piqueti has not played once for the Saudi outfit. However, after performing well again in the most recent AFCON in Egypt, the Ismaily board has decided to sign him based on his impressive international displays.
Ismaily finished a disappointing sixth in the Egyptian Premier League, the Darawesh will not be playing neither African Champions League or African Confederation Cup football next season.
Ismaily will fly the Egyptian League Flag alongside Al Ittihad Alexandria Club at 2019-20 Arab Club Champions Cup.
