CAIRO – 25 July 2019: Egypt U21 Handball team face Norway on Thursday at the 2019 Men's Junior World Handball Championship quarter finals in Vigo.

Egyptian players hope to continue their amazing run at the competition and reach the semi-finals for the first time since 2015 in Brazil.

The World Cup draw put Egypt in the group of death alongside Sweden, France, South Korea, Nigeria and Australia.

Egypt achieved five wins at the group to reach the second round as group leaders.

Egypt faced Serbia on Wednesday at the second round and won 30-29.

The Egyptian team achieved victory thanks to a goal in the last moments of the match. The winning goal was scored in the last five seconds, turning defeat into victory.

Egypt’s best achievement at the competition came in 1993 when Egypt won the title at home.

Egyptian Handball national team squad includes: Abdelrahman Taha, Abdelrahman Hameed, Galal Khorshid, Abdelaziz Ehab, Shehab Abdallah, Hassan Walid, Seif El Deraa, Ahmed Hesham, Ahmed Rady, Hazem Mamdouh, Mohsen Ramadan, Mohamed El Azhary, Omar Khaled, Omar Samy, Khaled Waleed and Yasser Mohamed.
