CAIRO - 13 July 2019: Nigeria national team manager, Gernot Rohr, believes that his team needs to improve and be more clinical as they missed many chances to score the second goal against South Africa and complicated their situation.
“We still have things to improve, for example if we have chances to score a second goal we need to be more clinical.” Rohr said.
Nigeria face Algeria on Sunday night at the semi-finals and Nigeria manager hopes to repeat their victory over the Algerian team at 2018 World Cup qualifiers but he believes that Algerian team has totally changed under the command of their manager, Djamel Belmadi.
Rohr added “Belmadi has done a very professional job. They were shaky at the time. We beat them 3-1 and they made lots of individual errors and defensives mistakes that made it easier for us to win.”
Algerian team has had a fantastic run during the tournament after achieving three wins at the group stage and producing a magnificent football at the knockout stage.
Rohr continued “We know they're a good side but we have a strong team too. We can reasonably hope to win based on our last two performances but we're wary because of our opponents.”
