CAF chooses Ismail Bennacer as AFCON best player in group stage

CAIRO- 4 July 2019: African Football Confederation (CAF) announced that Ismail Bennacer, Algeria’s midfielder, is the best player of the AFCON groups stage.
Bennacer starred with Algeria and presented a remarkable performance in the first round of the African Cup Nations. He won the Man of The Match award for two times against Senegal and Kenya.

Algeria defeated all their three opponents, Senegal, Kenya & Tanzania; leading their group with 9 points and they scored six goals. Algeria also didn’t concede any goal; same as Egypt, Morocco and Cameroon.
Algeria faces Guinea on Sunday at 30 June stadium in the 16th round of the African Cup of Nations.
The Groups stage of the African Nations Cup has ended on Tuesday night and the competing teams were determined to participate in the 16th round.

The AFCON 16th round launches on Friday and extends till next Monday. The quarter-finals will start on Wednesday & Thursday. While the Final game will be on July 19th.
All the matches will be played at 6 pm, followed by the second game at 9 pm.
