Egypt's organizing of AFCON 2019 not less than World Cup organization

CAIRO, July 2 (MENA) - President of the Egyptian Football Association Hany Abu Reida on Tuesday said that the level of Egypt's organization of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019 (AFCON) is a not less than that of Russia's organization of the World Cup in 2018.

At a press conference here, he added that Egypt's preparations for the event lasted only four months, while Russia's preparations took eight years.

He also noted that Egypt will offer its experience and support to Cameroon in its organization of the 2021 edition of the tournament.

Egypt is seeking to send a message to the whole world that the African countries are qualified to organize an international sport event as big the cup of nations, he added.
