CAIRO, 27 June 2019: Amr Warda crisis continues; after the support of his teammates in the Egyptian national team in the match against Democratic Republic of Congo, they intend to support him again and that time in front of the coaching staff and Hany Abu Reda, President of the Egyptian Football Association.

Egypt national team defeated DR Congo 2_0 on Wednesday night to achieve their second victory at the competition. Egypt reached six points to top group A and secure their qualification to the second round regardless of the result against Uganda at the last game at the group stage.

Before that, Egypt national team officials announced on Wednesday excluding the national team winger, Amr Warda, from the team squad participating in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. The team officials announced the decision to rule out Warda was due to his misbehavior and immoral actions.

But after the victory, Amr Warda posted a video of himself apologizing for the Egyptian fans for his mistakes, he promised not to repeat such things again & wished for another chance.

As a reaction to this video, Egyptian national team players demanded from Amr Warda to stay in with the team despite EFA’s decision. They also demanded to have a meeting with EFA’s president, Hany Abu Reida, as they feel that Warda has been subjected to injustice. They believe that this decision will affect Warda’s career.

It’s worth to mention that Ehab Lehita, Egyptian national team’s director, has stated before the match that Warda will not be back again to the Egyptian team; not at any moment in the future.

Amr Warda found support in the game against DRC from Egyptian players; Ahmed El Mohammady, while celebrating his goal, asked fans to forgive Warda. Also, Egypt’s defender, Baher El Mohmmady, raised Warda’s jersey.
