Salah has to take responsibility now: Abo Reida

CAIRO- 20 June 2019: Hani Abo Reida, president of the organizing committee of the African Cup of Nations, confirmed that the first national team has a strong desire to win the championship.

Egypt will host the African Cup of Nations from June 21 to July 19 with the participation of 24 teams. The tournament starts on Friday with the match between Egypt & Zimbabwe.

"The mood of Mohamed Salah is very good after achieving the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool," said Hani Abo Reida during his interview with Time Sport.

Abo Reida added that he spoke to Mohamed Salah and said to him: "You have to take responsibility now because this is your fate,"

Hani Abo Reida explained that the first national team with former coach Hector Cooper was well built and presented many players to the list of Pharaohs, while Javier Aguirre is a very daring coach and has a personality that makes him face any team without fear.

Egypt plays in Group A alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
Egypt national team played two friendly games against Tanzania and Guinea ahead of the competition. The first game against Tanzania ended with a 1-0 victory for the Egyptians thanks to a goal from Ahmed Elmohamady while the second game against Guinea ended with a 3-1 victory.
