CAIRO - 20 June 2019: Côte d'Ivoire won a 4-1 victory over Zambia in a friendly match in the UAE capital Abu Dhabi as part of the preparations for the African Nations Cup to be held in Egypt.

The tournament will start on Friday night at Cairo stadium, it takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.

Côte d'Ivoire are in Group D with Morocco, South Africa and Namibia, and Al-Salam Stadium hosts the group's matches. The team will start with the match against South Africa on Sunday.

Côte d'Ivoire, Jonathan Cudgea, Seri Jean-Michel, Wilfried Bonnie, Maxwell Cornet scored in the 30, 42, 57 and 84 minutes.

Côte d'Ivoire have secured their place in the African Cup of Nations for the 23rd time in their history, after being second in the second group table behind Guinea.

Cote d'Ivoire scored 11 points in six qualifying matches, won three games, drew two matches while lost a single game. Côte d'Ivoire scored 12 goals in the qualifiers and conceded five goals.
