We will work hard to get the best result: Zimbabwe manager

CAIRO – 19 June 2019: Zimbabwe national team manager, Sunday Chidzambwa, believes that his team will fight to get the best result during their participation in 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

"We are among 24 other teams fighting for AFCON qualification. Now that we are in the AFCON group stages, we will work hard to get the best possible results in all our games,” Chidzambwa said.

Zimbabwe plays in Group A alongside Egypt, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Zimbabwe opens their participation in the tournament on Friday night against the host nation, Egypt, at the opening game of the competition.

Chidzambwa added “We know how strong Egypt are especially when they play at home and the fans on their side supporting them throughout the competition,”

The tournament takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.

Zimbabwe reached the tournament for the fourth time and they hope to reach the second round for the first time.
