CAIRO – 17 June 2019: Zimbabwe national team captain, Knowledge Musona, revealed on Monday that his team will not give the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, a special treatment when Zimbabwe face Egypt at the opening game of the competition on Friday night.
“We should not only aim at stopping Mohamed Salah but everyone on the field because if we make that mistake, then we are going to fight against Salah, we will be destroyed by someone we don’t know,” Zimbabwe captain said on Monday.
Zimbabwe plays in Group A alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda and Egypt.
Zimbabwe reached the tournament for the fourth time and they hope to reach the second round for the first time.
Musona added “We just have to make sure that we are strong in every position and we are ready to fight in every duel and also take the chances that we might have, we are not here to talk, we are here to play, we came here to fight and it’s going to be a tough game.”
The tournament takes place with the participation of 24 teams in six groups for the first time in the history of the African competition.
