The Confederation of African Football, CAF, selects the UAE to host this year’s African Super Cup according to Emirati reports.
Zamalek, CAF Confederation Cup winners, will face the winner between Tunisian giants, Espérance, and Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca who face each other at CAF Champions League final.
The first leg in Morocco ended with a 1-1 draw and the second leg is scheduled on Friday night at the Olympic Stadium in Rades.
A new Zamalek history was made on Sunday night when the team won the CAF Confederation Cup title for the first time in the history of the club.
Zamalek, led by Swiss manager, Christian Gross, won the title as they defeated Morocco's RS Berkane on penalty-shootouts after the regular time ended with a 1-0 win for Zamalek who equalized their 1-0 loss at the first leg in Morocco.
Gross became the 9th manager in the history of the club to win a continental title and he put an end to 16 years of trophy drought on International level as Zamalek's last African title was in 2003 when they defeated Wydad Casablance to win the African Super Cup title.
