Al Nasr won their first title since 2015 and put an end to Al Hilal dominance over the title.
CAIRO – 18 May 2019: Al Nasr achieves their 8th title at the Saudi Professional League after they defeated Al Batin 2-1 on Thursday night.
The club finished the league on 70 points, one point ahead of their arch rivals, Al Hilal.
On the other hand, Al Hilal defeated Al Shabab 3-2 but their victory did not help the team to win the title after Al Nasr’s victory.
“I am so happy to win the title after a tough race with Al Hilal. We suffered during the game against Al Baten but I was sure that we will win and make our fans happy.” Al Nasr defender, Omar Hosawi told press after the game.
Moroccan striker, Abderrazak Hamdallah, scored twice to lead his team to victory and he reached 34 league goals to win the league golden boot award.
Al Nasr winger, Yehia Shahri, praised Hamdallah and the other International players, saying “We have a great squad with many amazing International players that led the team to win the league title.”
Al Nasr won their first title since 2015 and put an end to Al Hilal dominance over the title.
