CAIRO – 18 May 2019: Italian giants, Juventus, announced on Friday that Massimiliano Allegri will leave the club at the end of the season.

“Massimiliano Allegri will not sit on the Juventus bench in the 2019-2020 season.” Juve statement said.

The manager joined the club in 2014 and led them to win five Serie a titles, four Italian Cups and two Italian Super Cups.

Allegri, 51, led Juventus to two UEFA Champions League Finals in 2015 and 2017 but they lost both finals to Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively.

Juventus fans criticized the manager after being knocked out of UEFA Champions League quarter finals against Ajax after losing 2-1 at home despite having Cristiano Ronaldo who joined the club last summer from Real Madrid.

Rumors linked Juventus with many top managers to succeed Allegri especially Tottenham Hotspus manager, Mauricio Pochettino who led the team to 2019 UEFA Champions League Final.

Allegri will join the club president, Andrea Agnelli, in a press conference on Saturday at Allianz Stadium.
