Salah left the game against Newcastle on a stretcher, Reuters
CAIRO – 7 May 2019: Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, revealed on Monday that the team Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, is not available for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals second leg on Tuesday night at Anfield.
Salah suffered a head injury during his team’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle United on Saturday night at the league and he left the pitch on a stretcher.
“Salah is desperate to play but we cannot do it. It's a concussion. That means he would not even be allowed to play." Klopp said during the pre match press conference.
Salah will not be the only big absence as Roberto Firmino, who participated at 15 minutes at the first leg, will also miss the game.
Klopp added “Two of the world's best strikers are not available tomorrow night and we have to score four goals, i t doesn't make life easier but we will try for 90 minutes to celebrate the Champions League campaign to give it a proper finish."
Liverpool players are searching for a miracle to reach the final after losing the first leg in Spain 3-0 thanks to a goal from former Liverpool player, Luis Suarez and two goals from Barca captain, Lionel Messi.
