CAIRO - 8 June 2017: Daniele De Rossi, the Roma captain, announced that his new contract with Roma will be his last one with the team he has always played for. De Rossi also told reporters that the 2018 World Cup will be his last with the national team.
The 33 year old, just signed a new two-year contract to with the team until 2019. De Rossi made his debut for the club in 2001. “This contract I have just signed could be the last contract of my footballing career,” according to Dailymail.com.
De Rossi, who won the world cup in 2006, decided to bid farewell to the national team shirt after the Russia 2018 World Cup.
De Rosi said to reporters "If I think of 2020, I would be 37 years old, so you have to be realistic. If I'm needed I will always be there, but I consider the World Cup to be my final experience”
De Rossi earned his first cap for Italy in 2004 and was a regular member in the Italian squad, which won the 2016 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
