CAIRO – 29 April 2019: Barcelona Croatian midfielder, Ivan Rakitic, revealed on Monday that he wants to stay at the club despite the rumors linked him with a move to many clubs in Europe.
“I don't want to be anywhere else, I hope the club, the president, the coach and the fans see this the same way I do.” Rakitic told press.
Rakitic celebrated on Saturday night Barcelona’s league title at Camp Nou after the team defeated Levante 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lionel Messi.
Rakitic added “I hope they tell me that I'll stay here for another three years. I'd like to be able to point to the three more years on my contract and to say I'll be here three more years. Anything can happen in football, but I am very calm about it all.”
The Croatian joined Barcelona in 2014 summer from Sevilla and since then he established himself as one of the key players at the team squad.
He won three league titles with the Catalan team and 2015 UEFA Champions League title when Barcelona defeated Juventus 3-1 with Rakitic scoring the opening goal in the game.
