CAIRO – 11 April 2019: Al-Ahly Men’s Volleyball team defeated Smouha 3-0 on Wednesday at African Volleyball Clubs Championship final.
Al-Ahly achieved their 14th title in the competition and their fourth title in the last five years.

Al-Ahly dominated the game from the start and won the three sets 25-17, 25-23 and 25-19 respectively.
“I want to thank our fans who supported us during the tournament and they are the secret behind achieving the title.” Al-Ahly’s Abdallah Abdel Salah, said after the game.

Al-Ahly manager, Mohamed Mselhi, revealed his happiness after winning the title, saying “It was a tough tournament and we did everything we can to win the title. The players showed perseverance and persistence to make our fans happy.”
Al-Ahly’s Ahmed Salah sets a new record as he achieved his seventh title at the competition more than any team in Africa but Al-Ahly.

Salah won six titles with Al-Ahly in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2011 and 2019 beside achieving 2016 title during his team at El Gaish.
