CAIRO – 6 June 2017: Former Zamalek player and current Wadi Degla coach Ahmed Hossam, commonly known as “Mido” announced that he will stop working as a sports analyst for the Qatari-owned beIN Sports network.

"Today I apologize I desist working for beIN Sports," Mido wrote Monday on his official Facebook account.

Cairo giants' Al-Ahly and Zamalek announced their final boycott to the beIN-Sports network on Monday, banning the Qatari channel to broadcast respective matches.
Also, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed it will ban beIN sports reporters from covering EFA's related events.

Such decisions came following Egypt's move to severe its diplomatic relationships with Qatar over its support of terrorism and extremist government of Iran.

Along with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirati, Libya, Yemen and Bahrain also cut off their diplomatic ties with Qatar over the same set of concerns.
