Cairo Runners marathon in downtown Cairo on Friday

CAIRO, March 15 (MENA) - The Youth and Sports Ministry organizes in tandem with Children’s Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 Cairo Runners marathon on Friday.

Participants in the marathon will go forth and back from Horriya Park in downtown Cairo until Nile Corniche as of 6 am until 12 pm local time.

The marathon is a huge sports event not only because it is held in the heart of the nation's capital to boost tourism, but also because it has a humanitarian side for supporting cancer patients.

It is divided into five races, the first that is 42-km-long will be for professional runners. Amateurs will compete in two races which are 21-km and 10-km-long. There will also be a paralympic race and even more families will have the opportunity to join in the fun by taking part in a 2-km-long race.

A large number of artists, public figures and foreigners will be taking part in the event. (
