Al-Ahly arrives in Congo

CAIRO – 7 March 2019: Al-Ahly delegation arrived on Monday in the Democratic Republic of the Congo ahead of their clash against Vita Club at CAF Champions League Group Stage.

Al-Ahly plays in Group D alongside Tanzania’s Simba, Congo ‘s Vita Club and Algerian club JS Saoura.

Al-Ahly is leading the group with seven points, one point ahead of Simba and two points ahead of JS Saoura while Vita Club stays at the bottom of the group with 4 points.

“We expect Vita Club fans to pack the stadium to support their team against Al-Ahly. They are enthusiastic fans but they are not violent and everything will be okay.” Egypt ambassador to Democratic Republic of the Congo, Hamdy Shaaban, on Wednesday.

Al-Ahly midfielder, Amr El Solia, is expected to be fit for the clash after he recovered from the injury that forced him to miss the clash against Petrojet at the League.

Al-Ahly failed to achieve their ninth title at the competition as they lost the last two Champions League Finals to Wydad Casablanca and Esperence, respectively.
