Al-Ahli Saudi cancel sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways

CAIRO – 5 June 2017: Al-Ahli Al Saudi Sporting Club announced the termination of the sponsorship deal done with Qatar Airways after Arab and Gulf States cut ties with Qatar on Monday.

“Al-Ahli Saudi Club announce the termination of the sponsorship deal that was done between the club and Qatar Airways and this is due to our government’s policy,” this statement was released via the club’s official account on twitter.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, UAE, and eastern government of Libya have announced cutting off their diplomatic relationship with Qatar over its support to terrorism.

In October 2014, Al-Ahly has signed a 3-year-sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways; the deal was renewed in May before being terminated Monday.
