CAIRO – 3 February 2019: Al-Ahly fans have had a great night as their team destroyed Tanzania’s Simba 5-0 on Sunday night at CAF Champions League Group stage.
However, Al-Ahly Uruguayan manager, Martin Lasarte, believes that it is not the time to be happy because they did not achieve their target yet.
“It is a great victory but we are not the champions yet and we still have many games at the competition.” Lasarte told press after the game.
Al-Ahly achieved their second victory at the group and they are leading the group table with seven points.
Lasarte added” The first goal was decisive and Simba suffered after that and gave us the chance to score more goals. It was a fantastic first half.”
Al-Ahly opened the score after 3 minutes from the start by Amr El Solia and scored another four goals at the first half by Ali Maaloul, Junior Ajayi and Karim Nedved who scored twice.
Al-Ahly regained their form under their new manager, Lasarte, and they achieved their fifth victory from seven games under Lasarte’s command.
