CAIRO – 30 January 2019: Zamalek defender, Mahmoud Alaa, scored two goals to lead his team to defeat Misr El-Makkasa on Tuesday night at the Egyptian League to continue their amazing run at the competition.
Alaa kept on his amazing form and scored 12 goals to become the highest scoring defender at the history of the league alongside Mahmoud Fathallah who scored 12 goals for El-Entag El-Harby.
Alaa has the chance to break the record as he still has 16 games at the league.
The defender joined Zamalek in summer 2017 from Wadi Degla and since then he established himself as the starting defender for his team.
Alaa is the leading top goal scorer at the league with 12 goals including a hat-trick against El-Gaish.
Zamalek is leading the league table with 45 points after 18 games; they are six points ahead of Pyramids who played 20 games and 12 points ahead of Al-Ahly who played 16 games.
