CAIRO - 17 January 2019: The Egyptian handball team is facing a crucial match against Angola at the end of the group stage in the Handball World Cup held in Germany and Denmark.
The match will be held at 4:30 pm on Thursday and the Pharaohs need to win in order to qualify officially to the second round regardless of the rest of the results of the group.
Egypt succeeded to grab a last minute draw against Hungary to increase the chances of the Pharaohs to qualify for the second round.
Egypt has had a frustrating start at the tournament as they lost their first two games against Sweden and Qatar, respectively. But, they defeated Argentina 22-20 in the third game.
Egypt and Angola have never faced each other in the World Cup but have already competed in many competitions in the African Championship; Egypt won all the previous five encounters.
The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group D alongside Sweden, Hungary, Qatar, Argentina and Angola.
