CAIRO – 9 January 2019: Egypt International, Mohamed Salah, has received Mohammed Bin Rashid Creative Sports Award on Wednesday during a ceremony held in Dubai.
“I am so happy to be here in Dubai and I am so proud to receive this award,” Salah said on Wednesday.
Salah received the award one day after he was named African Player of the year for thesecond time in a row.
“we assemble around this time every year to welcome the sporting world’s leading creators and honor them in recognition of their innovative efforts, achievements and initiatives that contribute tothe development of sports,”Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, said on Wednesday.
Salah has had an amazing season with Liverpool as he led his team to UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid but he only played 25 minutes and left the pitch after suffering an injury and followed his team’s 3-1 loss from the stands.
The Egyptian scored 44 goals last season at all competitions, including 32 goals at the league that granted him the Premier League Golden Boot award.
This season, Salah suffered a frustrating start with his team but he regained his form and scored 13 goals at the league for Liverpool after 20 games leading his team to Premier League leadership.
