CAIRO – 3 December 2018: Tunisian midfielder, Mohamed Amine ben Amor, is close to join Al-Ahly, according to Tunisian agent, Magdi Taktok.
“Negotiations between Al-Ahly and the player started a week ago. Ben Omar wants to play for Al-Ahly and his team will not stand against the deal,” Taktok told Sada El-Balad on Sunday.
Ben Amor, born in Sousse, joined their local club, Etoile Du Sahel, at 18 and since then he became a key player at the club and the national team.
The midfielder was among Etoile’s golden generation that achieved the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup, 2016 Tunisian League title and the domestic Cup twice in 2014 and 2015.
“The player has also received many offers to play in Europe,” Taktok added.
Ben Amor is a starting player at Tunisia national team; he represented his nation at the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon and the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Ben Amor’s only participation at the World Cup came against England at the opening game when he replaced Naïm Sliti at the last 15 minutes.
