Al-Ahly wins the Premier League title for the 39th time

CAIRO – 30 May 2017: Al-Ahly SC secured Premier League title after clinching a precious point from their 2-2 draw with the second-placed Masr Al-Makassa for the 39th time in the club's history.


The host Masr Al-Makassa managed to make the leaders sweat throughout a head-to-head game on Monday. Al-Makassa resolutely rallied from behind to close the goals gaps, scoring two goals in the second half.


Al-Ahly currently stands on the top with 72 points, while Masr al-Makassa sits second with 52 points.
