CAIRO – 8 November 2018: Youth & Sports min. Ashraf Sobhy telephoned Egyptian Ambassador to Tunisia, Nabil Habashi, to check on the Ahly's delegation and to follow up the final arrangements for their match against ES Tunis.
Al-Ahly defeated ES Tunis 3-1 at the first leg, and they are preparing for the second leg in Tunisia on Friday night.
Sobhi stressed that Egypt and Tunisia are considered as brothers with historical ties at the official and public levels.
The Arabic circle is one of the most important circles in Egypt's foreign relations. Football is a bridge for communication and rapprochement between the two nations.
He assured that there will be an Arab representative in the FIFA Club World Cup in UAE next December.
In a related context, Youth & Sports min. welcomed the Tunisian national team, who will face the Egyptian national team on November 16 in the AFCON qualifiers at Borg el-Arab Stadium, stressing that they are among their people and in their second home Egypt.
