CAIRO - 6 November 2018: Al Ahly Club hit out at a decision taken by the Confederation of African Football against its striker Oualid Azaro as well as a fine slapped against it.

On Monday, CAF decided to suspend Azaro for two games and fined the club dlrs 20,000. Moreover, Coach Patrice Carteron of Ahly will appear before the CAF Disciplinary Board for a hearing regarding what it termed as an "unsporting behavior" by the player over tearing off his shirt.

Ahly asked the Egyptian Football Association to file a memo at CAF to protest against the recent decision.

The club held Azaro accountable for his unsporting behavior, although many world players had adopted similar action without being penalized.

The club added that the player did not receive any cards during the match.

The club expounded that CAF rules stipulate that a player would be suspended if he picks up two yellow cards in one match.

Al Ahly will face ES Tunis in the second leg of CAF Champions League on Friday at Rades stadium.

Al Ahly defeated ES Tunis 3-1 in the first leg of CAF Champions League which was held at Alexandria's Borg el Arab stadium
