El Shenawy among Al-Ahly squad for Champions League Final

CAIRO – 01 November 2018: Al-Ahly manager, Patrice Carteron, announced on Wednesday the team squad for CAF Champions League Final against Espérance on Friday night.

Al-Ahly goalkeeper, Mohamed El Shenawy, was named in the list and he is fit to play the game. El Shenawy suffered a muscle injury during the game against Al Wasl at Arab Club Championship on Sunday and he left the pitch before half time.

The list also included Walid Azarro who was out of the team since the CAF Champions League semifinals second leg against ES Setif in Algeria.

Al-Ahly winger, Moamen Zakaria, was ruled out of the squad beside the injured players, Ali Maaloul and Junior Ajayi.

Carteron's squad for the game consisted of:

GOAL KEEPERS: Mohamed el-Shenawy, Aly Lotfy, Sherif Ekramy

DEFENDERS: Ahmed Fathy, Ayman Ashraf, Salif Coulibaly, Saad Samir, Sabry Raheel and Mohamed Hany.

MIDFIELDERS : Hesham Mohamed, Hossam Ashour, Ahmed Hamoudy, Karim Nedved, Walid Soliman, Amr el-Soleya, Mido Gaber, Akram Tawfik, Ahmed Hamdy, Islam Mohareb

FORWARDS : Walid Azzarou, Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen

Al-Ahly looks to achieve the 9th African title after they failed to reap the title last season when got defeated against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the final.
