Al-Ahly handball team - FILE
CAIRO – 25 October 2018: Al-Ahly handball team defeated Rajaa Agadir 31-20 on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the African Handball Champions League’s quarter final.
The competition draw put Al-Ahly in Group A alongside Mali’s USFAS Bamako, Cameroon’s FAB Yaoundé, Gabon’s phoenix and the host team Red Star from Ivory Coast.
The team has had an amazing run at the group stage, achieving four victories out of four games to finish the group stage as group leaders.
Al-Ahly players hope to achieve their sixth title in the history of the competition, narrowing the gap with Algerian club, GS Pétroliers,that has a record of 11 titles.
Al-Ahly waits for the second opponent in the semi-final who will be the winner from GS Pétroliers from Algeria and Phoenix from Gabon.
Zamalek is the second Egyptian team in the championship. The White knights faces Ivoirian Red Star on Thursday.
