CAIRO – 23 May 2017: The Cairo heavy-weights Zamalek and Al-Ahly kick off Tuesday the Champions’ League Group-stage second showdown.
The Premier League’s leader Al-Ahly is in an away clash with the Cameroon champions Coton Sports, while its arch-rivals Zamalek is set to take on Ahli Tripoli in Tunisia.
Al-Ahly enters the game aiming to make the most of the second African match after a poor goalless home face-off against the Zambian Zanaco on May 13.
The Premier League’s third-placed Zamalek squad’s morale is at its highest after beating Caps United at home 2-1 last week.
Zamalek were previously drawn against Algeria’s USM Alger, Libya's Al-Ahly Tripoli and Zimbabwe’s Caps United in the same group, while Al-Ahly was pitted against Cameroon’s Coton Sports, Zamibian Zanaco and Morocco’s league leaders Wydad.
