CAIRO – 30 July 2018: Chelsea Brazilian defender, David Luiz, seems happy with the club’s decision to appoint the Italian, Mauricio Sarri, as the club's new manager.
Chelsea signed Sarri who is known for his attacking style which seems perfect for the Brazilian defender.
“I love Sarri's philosophy. We play high, with a lot of possession in a technical way. He's trying to help us every single day to learn his philosophy quickly,” Brazilian defender told skysports on Monday.
Luiz was diminished last season under Chelsea former manager, Antonio Conte.
He played only 10 games despite his big role at their League campaign in 2016 when Chelsea won the league.
Luiz added:” A new philosophy always takes time. But, it also depends on us. If we're dedicated every day and doing things every single day in training, we're trying to learn quickly."
Asked about Chelsea’s intention to sign new defenders, he said: “It is good to have fantastic players, more than just 11. You have many players that can play in the starting 11, so it is a positive challenge for everybody."
