EFA invited to hold Egypt Super Cup in Bahrain

CAIRO – 21 May 2017: The next season of the Egyptian Super Cup might be played in Bahrain, Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Chairman Hani Abou-Rida told DMC Sunday.

“I received an informal invitation to hold the Super Cup in Bahrain, on the sidelines of the general assembly of the Union of Arab Football Associations,” Rida said, adding that the final decision is up to the competition’s sponsor.

The Egyptian Super Cup was held in the United Arab Emirates in the past two years. In 2017, Zamalek claimed their third Egyptian Super Cup title, after beating nine-time winner Al-Ahly in Abu Dhabi.
