CAIRO – 21 July 2018: Egypt’s Mostafa Al Nady and Omar Hamdy won Gold medal in the 2018 African Youth Games, held in Algeria, in the Men’s double canoeing.

Egypt raised its medals’ record to 31 includes 18 Gold medals, 6 Silver medals and 7 Bronze medals leading the table of the competition.

Egypt participates with 269 players representing the Pharaohs in 27 different games.


The third edition of the African Youth Games kicked off on Wednesday July 18with an Opening Ceremony held in Algiers.



A total of 30 sports feature on the programme for the Games, due to take place until July 28.


Athletics, archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, fencing, equestrian, football, gymnastics, handball, hockey and judo are among the sports.


The programme is completed by karate, rowing, rugby, swimming, sailing, boules, tennis, table tennis, shooting, triathlon, taekwondo, volleyball, wushu and weightlifting.
