CAIRO – 12 July 2018: Former Manchester United captain, Ryan Giggs, commented on Wednesday on former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo’s move from Real Madrid to Juventus.

“Cristiano is obsessed with beating Messi. Now, he has the argument of having won in England, Spain and with Portugal, so he wants to say 'I'll do it in Italy as well',” Giggs told ITV.

Giggs shared Manchester United's dressing room with Ronaldo between 2004 and 2009 before Ronaldo’s departure to join Real Madrid.

Since Ronaldo’s arrival in Madrid, the rivalry between Ronaldo’s Real Madrid and Lionel Messi’s Barcelona reached a peak.

Giggs added: “Having Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus on your CV is something special; he can use it in his favor in the argument of who is better between them."

Real Madrid announced on Tuesday the departure of their historic Portuguese winger, Ronaldo, to Juventus after 10 years in the Spanish club.

Ronaldo, 33, has won everything with Real Madrid; he won four UEFA Champions League titles, two La Liga titles, two Spanish Cup titles, three FIFA Club World Cup titles and he was crowned the best player in the world four times.
