CAIRO – 5 July 2018: Egypt lost to Croatia 30-19 at their third game in Group D of the 2018 Women's Junior Handball World Championship in Hódos Imre Sports Hall, Debrecen.

The first half of the game witnessed Egypt’s best performance at the tournament; they were the better side and they managed to end the first half leading the score 12-11.

The second half was completely different from the first one and the European side showed a better performance and won the game 30-19.

Yasmine Waheed was the best player from Egypt, scoring six goals at the game.

Egypt stayed at the bottom of the group table with three consecutive losses as they lost the opening game to Spain 39-20 and lost the second game 37-18 to France.

The World Cup draw put Egypt in the group of death alongside Sweden, France, Spain, Croatia and Germany.
Sweden won the title in 2012 defeating France at the final, while Germany won the title in 2008. Croatia was the first team to win the competition in 1977 when they were part of Yugoslavia.
On the other hand, Egypt participates at the tournament for the second time after their first participation in 2016 in Russia when they finished in the 20th position.

Hungary hosts the tournament between July 1 and 14.
