Sela retracted sponsorship bid with Al-Ahly

CAIRO – 5 July 2018: Sela Sport Company retracted Thursday its four-year bid, worth LE 500 million, with Al-Ahly SC; reasons for the termination decision remain unknown.

Sources at Al-Ahly confirmed that they will hold discussions with the responsible administrative body in order to carry out a new bid for the club’s sponsorship contract, or agree with the second ranking company in the first bid on the contract.

The club, whose sponsorship bid was carried out several weeks ago, is currently awaiting a formal termination letter from Sela Sport Company, as they do not wish to move forward and sign the contracts anymore.

Sources also assured that Al-Ahly has many solutions to the situation if Sela Sport formally cancels its bid, explaining that a multitude of companies expressed their interest after news of the bid’s cancelation came out.

Sela had previously offered a bid worth LE 500 million over a four year period. Sela was also the official sponsor of Al-Ahly between 2015 and 2018.
